  I was born in the millennial generation 1980 to now. We are labeled the Millennial generation because it refers to 1980- to the first generation to come of age in the new millennium. Technology is also big part of the Millennial generation. Yes I sleep with my cell phone. I do have a profile on a social network site ( Facebook). It is just part of my daily life. This generation uses face book, U-Tube to promote them selves. They even label the millennium generation as the, “ look at me generation.” The millennial generation is very technologically savvy. I am glad I was born in the millennial generation. Technology pushes me everyday, it teaches me new and exciting things. There is no limit on technology and how far it can go. That is exciting to me. Just imagine my children's generation and how there technology will be. I bet the movies then will be projected all around them so they fell like they are apart of the film. Its crazy to imagine the possibilities. I think we are the smartest generation given all the technology that we create. My four year old knows how to get on the internet and run a computer. My children do enjoy video games. They claim that the millennial generation plays so many video games, and the use of technology that it is the "death of our empathy.” Which I don't agree with as I stated in my last blog. Even tho the kids are playing many video games and using electronic devise it still is up to the parent how you raise your children.  Our time with gaming, and internet use has risen for sure.  Three quarter of Millennial’s have created a profile on a social networking site. We socialize through the computer and electronics. Millennial are the only generation that says technology brings family and friends closer together. I think naming the millennial generation after their coming of age in the new millennium fits but, I would also include how technology is such a big part of our life's that definitely describes the Millennial generation to me.

 They name generations after memorable events, individuals born in the same time period to historical events, fashion trends, cultural attitudes, music, and technology. For example, the “Greatest Generation” (born before 1928) is named this because they are the generation that went through World War 2. The generation that went through the great depression (1928-1945) was named the “Silent Generation.” And we are the “Millennial Generation” because we are the first to come of age in the new millennium. I’m wonder if the next generation will be the “Rescission generation” maybe? I don’t like the essay that Huschild said saying that the Millennial generation. She claimed that it is the dumbest generation ever! And had no work ethics. The Pew Research  center also claims that the older generation has better work ethics, morals and vales and respect for others. In my opinion this is not correct. Because our life and our work ethic is completely different than back then. Back in the day there work was a lot more physical labor than now. But we use technology to work. Just think how the car manufactories took physical labor jobs and stuck there workers behind a computer with a remote. Not only did it cut jobs but, it changed they way they worked. I do have a good work ethic Its just different than back in the day. If you look at the population now and the amount of work available it may look as if the Millennial generation is lazy. But its hard to find a job. Technology is replacing a lot of jobs. I do know that my grandpa could out work me physically, but I could out do him when it involves technology. On another recent survey they claimed the millennial have the lowest amount of interest politics , reading the paper, and living religious life. But, we have the highest number in interracial marriages, successful in high paying career, highest use of cell phone messages, and video games usage. I think we use the technology because its in our life's a lot more now than the last generation because we use it for work, socializing, researching, advertising,  and gaming. 

  In  Gilsdors essay when he said,” that people are starting to play more and more Dungeons and Dragons because its now socially acceptable. If you don't know Dungeons and Dragons is a video game but its also a game you can play with dice.  A lot of people are going back to the dice game rather than the video game. This game people are very creative. It also helps people with writing.   People are a lot more open about it now. They think that the dice version is better and that people have changed the game for the computer. In my opinion the first is usually the best. There are some good games that challenge your mind but, there is a new game called “Dead Space.” The one thing that does bug me about this game. The way they advertise for it. It says on the cover “you mom will hate it.” That will get young kids to buy it for the wrong reason.  I think video games can be bad if a young child buys a game that is not for his age. Dead Space is for older kids 17 and up but young kids still get ahold of it. They are just really good at hiding it from there parents.  

 Movies are also a big part of our life. even more now than  back when movies first came out. I think the reason why movies are such a big part and influence on peoples life’s now is it is a higher demand for movies now. There are a lot more production companies, actors and movies. People even start using u-tube to rise up and become an actor or actress. But even tho there are so many movies there are only a few actors or actress that are very rememberable. 

  Peoples different attitude, attributes help describe a generation. You can see how each generation changes people, and you can see what they have been through. I am glad that Im in the Millennial generation.
